Not your typical approach lineup! The RAF E-3D leads a USAF E-3B (note the old smoky engines). And in last place a B-2 stealth bomber.

Fun to see how the old engines smoke so much compared to the new ones on the RAF E-3D. Very nice line-up.

Absolutely impeccable Ivan! Great to see the contrast with the UK and US E-3 engines and of course the B-2 is a fantastic addition. Thanks for bringing us these shots from the one and only Nellis -Angad S

Forget stealth technology, a blind man could smell the cloud of smoke coming his way and if not he would hear it from the gasp and laughter of the others pointing to the coal burning relic powered E-3B. Must be nice to have deep pockets to burn through fuel like that without a care in the world. I am sure that if cargo carriers figured the savings of updating DC-8s to CFM56 that doing 707 would payoff just as well plus they could stay up in the air longer between refueling points.
