Wow...! Famtastic shot... but what is with the landing gear? 2 wheels on one main and one on the other?
Anonymous

Very impressive, but why the left main gear has 2 wheels, right only has one???

Great shot. But do I see wrong? Is one wheel missing? Or it's just angle of the shot?

Very nicely captured moment and nice lighting. Note the main starboard undercarriage is missing a wheel.

Great photo - Why does it look like the left main gear has two tires, while the right main gear only has one?

Why is there one wheel on one side and two on the other.

Excellent shot! Good timing with the parachute still unraveling.
A strange question though....Is it normal for this aircraft to have two wheels on the left but only one on the right?

Some very wild looking staggard wheel arrangement on this thing. Nice catch of the chute!! Very Clear!

What an interesting shot? I don't get it, one back landing gear with two tires and the other with just one wheel! What am I missing? And, is the MiG taking off or landing? Great photo!

Extremely nice!! captured just at the right moment, something you don't see often, and the sun and snow makes it just right!

Excellent timing and clarity of this exciting photo. It also raises a question as to "why the three-point landing?"

How did this guy managed to catch this moment?! Great catch, appropriate background and right object!

Wheels are not in line on this, so front wheel on right gear is hidden behind rear. like _-

The inner wheels of the main landing gear are set forward on the MiG-31, and the outer wheels are set back. This can be seen clearly in other pics around the site, but it creates the illusion of a missing wheel here. Awesome shot!

Great Shot, all wheels are present and correct. Mig 31 has 2 wheel rear landing gear in tandem, not side by side. Other wheel tucked up slightly in front of the right hand gear, this side of the gaer may not have touched down yet.

It is NOT missing a wheel...look more closely and you can see all 4 main wheels are there...the front main wheel on the right side has not come down all the way yet.

It's actually a bit of an optical illusion. The 31's mains are staggered one in front of the other not side by side and the left main has touched down first.

To answer all of the questions about the 3 point landing if you look at the trees in the background you may notice that he is landing in a crosswind

Interesting. The backseater(RIO?) has there own periscope for the landing...? Is the prodction line reopening or is that a rumour?
