Would have loved to see those planes in the skying wondering the earth with its other sisters and brothers and service! Hope to see them joining their fleet.

The DC-10 on the taxiway looks fresh. but soon she will come to an end. :( I'll take 5 units of DC-9 and another 5 for options please. :)

Very sad to see all these once proud jetliners stored, facing an uncertain future. I hope these aircraft will find new owners and return to the sky, where they belong.

Yeah that DC-10 looks indeed like it could take to the skies again at any time! And by the way, guys don't be too enthusiastic, the Gimli Glider (reg. C-GAUN and not C-GUAN) was stored at Mojave and not in Marana. This one here is C-GAUE, a very old yet not so famous 767 :)

Sad scene... the picture was taken around the DL/NW takeover, as many Northwest birds were being put down after the company has merged with Delta.
p.s. - the "Gimli Glider" was registered C-GAUN, so the white B762 on the bottom left could be him! (I can clearly read "C-GAU", but not sure if the last letter's an "N"!)

Like the previous posters, I sure do miss seeing the red NW birds at the airports when traveling. This pic is from '07 so it's a safe bet most of these golden era jets are scrapped? Last DC-10 I ever flew on was a NW -40 series to SEA via MSP around June 2002. Good memories.

I truly miss Northwest. First Airline I ever flew and a lot of great memories. Friendly staff, comfortable seats, and a brand new terminal in Detroit which we didn’t know Northwest wouldn’t occupy for not long.
May have not been the fanciest airline, but got you from Point A to Point B with an amazing fleet. Barely any US airline in the 2000’s still had DC-10s, 747-200s/200Fs, DC-9-51s/41s/30s, BAe-146s and yet had brand new aircraft like the A330’s and 757-300s and planning to get 787’s.
What a sad sight this picture is. The beginning of the end of a historic airline.
