It looks like this is the initial version of the new livery, with the very dark blue, almost black. One would have expected the revised version here, with the slightly lighter blue, like on the B744 D-ABVM.

It looks like a bad customs stamp.

At the very least, put the blue bird on the engines. I've seen generic canned meat with a more attractive design.

Wow, that really is a mess. Once again, if they only put the logo on the engines in black, that would really improve the look by balancing it all out, especially on this aircraft type.

But this is definitely the revised look as even though the tail still does look quite dark, you can still see a bit of blue, the older one would have looked completely black under these lighting conditions . . . and the logo is the larger one as well.

So apparently the Germans ran out ouf black ink and had to send the aircraft all the way to MAN to paint it? I mean, did they pay for it??

It says something when the A340-600 still looks stunning in that crappy drab livery. Still, I'll never understand why they approved this. The old livery was a timeless classic and instantly recognizable across the world. The new one looks like the livery of an airline owned by Dr. Evil or something.
