What a great picture! Four generations of The Mighty Mad Dog Twins together. Way to go Delta! Enjoy it while it lasts.

4 Douglas work-horses ready to ply the skies for years to come. Smart move Delta.

That's not Delta's first MD-88 (N901DL was, but it got scrapped a few years ago), but this is a very interesting picture! As a bonus, we also have a couple of the new B739ERs in the back row!

That is a great picture and a much better angle than that Pries one that has been going around, where he claimed he was the exclusive photographer there.

The boeing 717,confusing DC-9 fans since 1998,the 2nd looks like a -50.

Glad that Delta allowed this shot for the photographers who were there, taking turns, each one shooting this rare setup. Everyone got a piece of the pie, not just exclusively to one shooter only as previously erroneously mentioned in the internet.

And the two? 739ers in behind them?

Notice how the delta branding on the DC-9 is smaller than the rest yet the widget is bigger. Great picture, nice that Delta keeps these planes running.

Yes I love this photo too. Family shot. Very nice! And we thought Ramp Side showoff was the only one 'invited by Delta' to shoot this

Delta's first MD-88 was N909DL. 901-908 were built as MD-82s later converted to MD-88 standard.

MDs are amazing aircraft due to the sound design. If you are fortunate enough to see the details that went into them. There were easily 20 years when these puppies (MD80s) outclassed any other in their market nitche!

To see history like this (DC-9-50 thru B-717-200)is great! Delta being the first operator of the DC-9-10 in 1965 now with the B-717-200, the last of the family in the fleet, combined with Northwest's DC-9 history means Delta has operated every form of the DC-9 except the DC-9-20 and the MD-87. Both of which were small production models.

Most people don't realize the effort it took to stage this shoot. Quite historical as the B717 and DC9 overlap in the fleet will be only about two months. Great shot!

Historical. But also a recognition to an airline who is able to look at quality aircraft objectively and keep them running way beyond what others see in them

It's MD'S "big 4" (717, DC-9, MD-80 and MD-90) rare shot... 5 stars!
