The guest from Hong Kong just answer our queries. The Taiwan president was on a visit to Costa Rica. Look at the condensation on the wings!

Hi Daniel! I'm glad this shot was finally accepted because it is beautiful. Every time I see this plane at LAX now I think of my friends at SJO. Thanks again for taking me to La Candela, it was a fun day! Keep up the good work. - Josh

Thank you all for the comments, and yes, the reason the Dreamliner came to Costa Rica was the visit of Taiwan president. The aircraft departure was scheduled to be at 1pm, but the actual departure was almost at 5pm. I was very worried because there was a thunderstorm over the airport a few minutes before departure. Luckily for me, the rain stopped a few moments before it takeoff, giving us a beautiful result!

Nice Picture. This plane also came here to MAnagua, Nicaragua a few months ago with the taiwanese. But the runway wasnt long enough and the airplane had to land in Dominican Republic to refuel and head back to Taiwan. Regards from Nicaragua

We don't get to see many 747s in SJO. ATLAS and some other cargo airlines fly to SJO with 747s, at least once a month, but they arrive and at night and depart before the sun comes out, so there is no chance to spot them.
This photo was taken from the control tower, which gives the photo an interesting angle.
For the people asking, the aircraft departed to Dominican Republic after its visit to Costa Rica.

We love this picture because of the dark blue belly blending up to a white top. We also like the flower on the tail and the misty background.

The color scheme on this 747 model is simply outstanding. Take the picture on a lush, green area and you have a sharp contrast that makes for a perfect work of art.

Look at that beast climb out. What a beauty, the water mist adds to the photo. We know the A-380 is also a great addition to the widebody commercial scene. But it doesn't hold a candle to the sleek lines of the nearly 40 year old design of the 747.
