Aviasvit-XXI airshow: the purely powerful high-lift devices - the reason of wondering short run of this heavy beauty. Just look onto its double-slotted flaps deflecting an airflow downward almost vertically(!) and spoilers pressing the airplane strongly to runway. By the way, have you ever seen the actuated anti-slats on stabilizer?

This is neat!!! Fantastic picture! In the tail design with high powered turboprops the downwash angle with full flaps is usually a problem causing flow seperation under the horizontal stabilizers. That is the reason why many turboprops have T-tails or reduced inner flap deflection. In this case they installed inverted slats to tackle this problem. Probably that off sets the increased structural weight or flutter characteristics of T-tails. Very interessting! Thanks for sharing!

Probably the most underrated (and misunderstood) Turboprop lifter in our time.
