So sad... :"( What is the reason for retiring Tupolevs from service? These are awesome machines that do the job for they were designed... :"(

Great shot but poor aircraft... the TU-154 is such a great airliner

Dangerous birds, alright. In fact the Tu-154 has one of the best safety records of all the aircraft in the world if it comes to technical reliability. The reason for most of the losses is the poor environment it operated :-( in. You just don't get ILS on all the far away airfields in Siberia.

It still is the most beautiful passenger aircraft ever built (maybe except the Tu-144 ;) ) and seeing them ending like that truly hurts a lot.

In a world driven by profit there is no place for them anymore and soon all we will see are Airbus and Boeing.

Really sad view. I flew on that one SVO-OVB back in 2007

It's not any more dangerous than a B-737 or A-320,any aircraft can become a death trap if its not crewed and/or maintained properly.

Cheers

Horrible to see, but not the most beautiful airliner. That honour goes to the VC-10, the last of which will sadly meet a similar fate very shortly.

Poor old Tupolev... A true, reliable, solid workhorse. All these classic types are going before I can fly on them :(
