Longreach Airport, Qld, Australia. Home of the Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd (QANTAS) Museum & the Stockman's Hall of Fame. Photo taken from an R44 (VH-OCL) of Queensland Helicopters, thanks to the Cessna 200 Club. The former airliners on display include the Boeing 707 'City of Canberra' VH-XBA; Boeing 747-238B 'City of Bunbury' VH-EBA & the old C47 'QANTAS empire Airways' VH-EAP. QANTAS, founded in Winton in 1920, moved its head office to Longreach in 1921 & served till 1930.

No problem finding some flat terrain at Longreach anyhow!----probably the overun stretches for five miles!

The overrun is surprisingly short and the 747 is VH-EBQ. That particular 707 is the oldest flyable 707 being line number 29 and the first 707 exported out of the USA.
