What Should I Go With, AF 747 Or AC A330?

Hi guys,

I'll be travelling to France this winter and I have the choice between a flight with AF or AC. AF are using both 747-200 and 747-400 to montreal so if I book with them I don't know which one it will be and AC is using the A330. Any body have an opinion on this?

Hey there.

Well, if I were you, I'd go Air France because from what I've been reading on here, their service is superior to Air Canada's. I prefer to travel in as much comfort as possible on long-haul flights. However, if the prices are similar and you want to fly in A330, that's what you should do. It ultimately depends on what will sway your decision.

Are you going to see your family?

I do tend more towards Air Canada as I have never travelled with the A330, prices are the same yes, but I know that AF service is a bit superior, but I'm sure I would love the A330

Yes I'm going to see my family and also do some sky in the Alps

You lucky guy! How long are you going for? I love skiing, but have never been into the Alps! I guess you're flying into Paris, or where? Sounds like a fun trip.

AF for sure. AC's service has fallen the wayside recently. And AF offers PTV's, AC doesn't and never will. Besides, the A330 isn't that good of a plane.

IL96: I will probably go for 2 or 3 weeks over there, much of vacation time I get from college. Yes I will fly to CDG and then I have a 1 hour TGV train ride

Louis: Last time I flew with AF they didn't had PTV's, well it was around '94 so that is probably why, but are all of their aircraft fitted with them?

I`d definitely go for Air France. I fly a lot with them, long and short haul and for me they are the best. Great food and in-flight entertainment - the best part is that they use Terminal 2 at CDG airport, and I`m pretty sure their Canadian flights use Terminal 2F at CDG, surely the easiest, fastest and for that matter the most beautiful airline terminal anywhere.

air france does not have PTV's on 747.(not in economy)
But fly air france !
good food
comfortable seat
nice cabin crew

Fly Air France for a better plane to plane or plane to TGV connection at CDG...

Well afterall I booked with Air Canada, since there was somewhat a big price gap between both. Now one weird thing is that when I booked to my travel agency they told me I would be flying a 767 and on AC website I find it is an A333 ....does anyone knows? Thanks

I doubt if you get on a 742 that it will have PTV. I my self would fly with AC to have a look at a A330, apparently they are really comfy.

What date are you travelling on?

Try Travelocity schedules to confirm the aircraft type.

I know for sure that Air Canada usually uses an A330 to Paris from Montreal and a 767 from Toronto.

normal plane used by AC on CDG-YUL is the A333,and B763 on YYZ-CDG...Never seen the 767 on CDG-YUL (?!!)
