Report:MSP-ORD-FRA-ZGR-FRA-ORD-MSP

Wed Aug 16, 2000 11:16 pm

I just got back on a wonderful trip. First, we flew United's 737 from MSP-ORD. Once in ORD, we got on Lufthansa's 747 from ORD-FRA. Then, we flew Lufthansa's A321 to Zagreb, Croatia. On the way back, we flew the same planes, except from FRA-ORD, we flew on a Lufthansa A340. Anyone ever been to Croatia????

We could really use some details on your trip, Continental. For example, what'd they serve you inflight, and was it any good? How was the service? What aircraft did you see? How were the airports you flew through? How were the flights, aviation-wise (ie, turbulence)? These are the things that make really good trip reports.

Thanks in advance!

First, at MSP, we came an hour early, just to make sure we didn't miss the flight. Well, we get to the airport, and look at the 1:50 P.M. departure from MSP-ORD. It says the flight at 1:50 is cancelled. So we quickly run to the gate, and caught the 12:45 P.M. flight! Whew! Big relief, well, sort of...We board the Boeing 737-300 bound to ORD, but they say that there are troubles at ORD, so we unboard the aircraft, sit down for 10 minutes, then reboard the aircraft. At, 1:50 P.M., (my scheduled flight) the 12:45 P.M. flight we were on, just took off. INFLIGHT: Aboard the aircraft was pretty comfortable, we got a little box of food that said "Taste of Chicago" on the top. Inside was a little sandwich, chips, some candy, and a drink. We descened, and while landing at ORD, I saw many different planes and airlines, I saw NWA's DC-9's there, Continental's 757's, a whole bunch of United aircraft such as the 777, 757, 737, 727, A319, etc., a British Airways 747-400, and many more I forgot. ON THE GROUND AT ORD: At ORD, we had to escort this lady that was also going to Zagreb, Croatia, since she didn't speak english, but we spoke english and Croatian. So my brother and I walked around ORD's terminal for awile, and boy, was I amazed, O'Hare was HUGE! We saw every flight going everywhere, to the right of us, we saw a United Airlines flight going to San Fransico, and to our left, we saw an Icelandair going to Rejavik. Then, we walked back to our gate for our next flight aboard Lufthansa Airlines 747-400 from ORD-FRA. We sit down at the gate, and snoop around the United BusinessClass section, since they where giving out free drinks. It was time to board the big 747-400 to Frankfurt, Germany. We takeoff on time, and lift off from ORD. INFLIGHT: We had 2 meals, dinner, and breakfast, so, for dinner, we had a choice, either Chicken, or Lasagna, I went with the chicken, it came with a drink, desert, grapes, salad, butter cookies, and some other stuff I forgot, we saw Goodwill Hunting the movie, but I fell asleep for the rest of the flight, I woke up, and found out from my father and brother, that I missed breakfast. Then finally, we landed at FRA. ON GROUND AT FRA: We got off the aircraft, and was ready to run to our next flight, because it was only 10 minutes after the ORD-FRA flight. To our surprise, some Lufhansa Airlines agent had our name on a board, and showed us to our next flight! WOW! Then when we got to out next flight aboard Lufthansa Airlines Airbus A321, we boarded right away. We tookoff ontime once again. INFLIGHT: The service was great, we had a sandwich, a drink, and some cookies. We flew over the Alps, and to the left of our aircraft, we saw this big Swissair MD-11 going to America. Then, we landed at the one-runwayed airport, Zagreb, Croatia. ON GROUND AT ZAGREB: We got right off the plane, then to the terminal, got our passports stamped, and then boarded a bus, to go to my relatives island. 2 weeks later, we got back to Zagreb Intl'. We boarded a Lufthansa A321 again. INFLIGHT: We got the same thing, a sandwich, cookies, and a drink. But this time, I looked out the right of our aircraft, and saw a big Continental Airlines DC-10 going to EWR. We landed fine at FRA, and saw a line of Condors, Lufthansa's, a Delta 767, a United 777, and an American 767 waiting to takeoff. ON GROUND AT FRANKFURT: We had to wait 5 hours for our next flight to ORD, because that was the next flight leaving FRA to ORD. We boarded our flight aboard Lufthansa Airlines Airbus A340 to ORD. INFLIGHT: I didn't eat at all, I wasn't hungry, but I did see a movie, it was Picture Perfect, but basically I slept for only 2 hours, woke up, and read a little. We filled out these little cards in order for us to get off the aircraft at ORD. We descended, and we saw only a bunch of United Airlines plane's ready for takeoff. ON GROUND AT ORD: We got off the plane, and we went to our next flight from ORD-MSP. It was delayed one hour due to weather, when we boarded, at 1:40 A.M., ORD was very, very busy, the A340 we just got off, was already boarding again to FRA. We get on United's 737-300. INFLIGHT: The flight was nice and short, we had little cookies and a drink. I was stuck between two business men. Finallt, our trip was over, we landed at MSP. ON GROUND AT MSP. There was already a United 737 parked at the gate for the night, so we went to a second gate, we came to a sudden stop, a NWA 757 pulls up and takes the gate, but it backs out, and lets us in. At MSP, there was no one there besides the people picking up the passengers that just got off our flight too. But, there was a USAirways flight boarding to Pennslyvania. So, then we drove home, and our trip was over. What do you think of that trip report N202PA????
