It’s December and time fort the anual Aegean Airlines Mileagerun. Because of some good fares that we had in 2017, my wife needs her 4 last remaining Segments for the Star Alliance Gold. After some research, we booked MUC-ATH-LHR-ATH-MUC on two different tickets and payed an average price of 40€ per Segment.
I would really appreciate if you would take a look to some further Pics:
http://www.robisintheair.de/aegean-airlines-mileagerun/ Munich to AthensFriday 1st Dec., we are on our way to the airport. Today it’s the first Mileagerun as a family. We don’t need to check-in luggage, so we’re walking straight ahead to the security control, afterwards to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge for a small Breakfast. I picked two glases of sparkling wine from the bar and some things from the buffet for breakfast. 10 Minutes before boarding we moved to the gate, our plane today stands on the tarmac.

Seats: 5 ABCDue the reason, that we arrived the plane with the last bus, the overhead bins were completely full and we had to store our belongings underneath the front seats. The doors were closed and our Airbus rockets out of Munich. After reaching cruise altitude we had a stunnig view from Salzburg to Slovenia over the alps. We set up the Jetkids box for our daughter, so she had plenty of space. Serve started soon. For Lunch Aegean served Pasta together with some beverages, also wine and beer, followed by tea or coffee. Shortly before arriving at Athens you got the opportunity for inflight shopping.
Athens to LondonThe Aegean Lounge was under construction, so we headed after our arrival to the Lufthansa Lounge. I really like this place. The Lounge is small, but they have a good variety of food, snacks and beverages. One hour before Boarding to London, we had to change the departure area. That means to go again through security check and of course passport control. Now, we are went to the Skyserv Lounge. It was sooo crowded maybe due a departure of a British Airways Boeing 767. The food selection was not as good as in the Lufthansa Lounge, but it was ok. Our flight to London was fully booked. There were 13 rows of Business Class!

Food was good. We also got a draw book from the flight attendant for our daughter to pass the time. We arrived in Heathrow on time and went by Underground to station Hatton Cross and walked 15 Minutes to our Hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel is located directly on the south runway and we had a nice overview over the airport.
London to AthensAfter a restful night and a quite good breakfast, we made our way back to the airport. Today is the first time at the "Queens Terminal" for me. As the mobile check-in unfortunately did not work, we hired ourselves at the counter. With the boarding passes, we went through the Security Fastlane. The terminal is very similar to the British Airways T5, it is bright and very open. Guests can choose from the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, the Singapore Silver Kriss Lounge, the United Club and the Lufthansa Business & Senator Lounge. Since we depart from the main terminal, we spend our time at Lufthansa. Home sweet home ☺. Do & Co is responsible for the catering and this is reflected in the quality of the food. When we arrive, the buffet is just being changed from breakfast to lunch and that is something to be proud of. Both the pasta and the yellow curry are great. Before we arrive at the gate, we let our daughter romp on a playground near the gates.

Seats: 6 DEFThe boarding starts on time and we take place directly behind the business class, at the gate our little frequent flyer girl falls asleep. That promises to be a relaxed flight. After we have reached the cruising altitude, we set up our Jetkids suitcase. Then there is the drink service and lunch again, today again with Bolognese pasta. Otherwise it was an unspectacular flight, as there was nothing to see outside. We arrive at 5pm in Athens and take a taxi to the Holiday Inn Express near the airport.
Athens to MunichThe early bird catches the worm. Already at 6 o'clock our alarm rings, so that we are in time with the shuttle bus at the airport. For a small breakfast, we return to the well-known Lufthansa Business Lounge. Shortly after 8 o'clock we boarded for our fourth and last flight to Munich.

Our seats are back in the front row behind the Business Class. Still on the climb, our daughter falls asleep, yeah! Breakfast is served when we leave the greek peninsula. Today there are two stuffed dumplings with spinach and sour cream and a Greek yoghurt. The weather over the Mediterranean Sea is fantastic, so we have a great view from Croatia to Salzburg. In Munich we land in dense fog and some snow and so our little mileage comes to an end.
Two days later, the account of my wife is converted into gold, the goal is reached. Now it's 12,000 miles and 4 segments or 24,000 miles for requalification.
