SWISS C-Series LHR-GVA in Y

Mon Jan 15, 2018 3:33 pm

Wanted to try the C-Series for a while now so found a cheap LHR-GVA-LHR with out on CS3 and in on CS1. Cannot remember the last time I flew something non A or B so a novelty for me also.

Having pledged by allegiance to BA / OW this meant a rare outing from LHR T2. It was an absolute pleasure. Arrived at 0500.

VERDICT : A very nice couple of flights on the CS. TBH no better/worse than any A320/737 & not as quiet as I'd expected - not sure what anyone else has experienced ? Just a word on SWISS - excellent ! Super friendly crew and good snacks both ways which is always apprciated. Cheers !

Aircraft Looks great! I love the tiny screens that display the map as an avgeek loves them. I hope Delta will incorporate that stuff into their CS series jets this year once they get them

Nice report! Great sunrise pics! Unless you are super tall, that legroom looked a bit tight. Looking forward to giving the C-series a whirl myself sometime soon.

Thanks for the report. I really love reports with lots of pictures.
I liked those mini-screens and think that they'll be more reliable than larger ones that come down and then stow away for takeoff and landing as they don't have any motors.
How was the tray table? It looked really low down and could imagine that for all but the smallest of passenger it would rest on their legs and be uncomfortable and not flat.

@twindocstravel - I am 6FT bang on & yes the legroom was bit tight but didn't actually feel as bad as that picture looks. For the missions they will be used for it will be fine.

@HHScot - the screens are good. Maps & flight info always good to see even on short flights. The tray was actually fine. Maybe deceiving in the picture but was above my legs - no issues !

Cheers !

Flew this plane from GVa to Zurich. Very pleasant. Swiss is much better than British to London; nice free snack + chocolate vs. Zipo on British. You must pay.

Yes agree the (free snacks) were nice on LX I will still go BA over LX. The M&S BoB is quite high quality and the choice is there. Also BA Club Europe for me beats LX euro Biz !

Great report and photos, thanks for posting. The seats look terrible but maybe not that bad when you're actually sitting in them? The two little mesh pockets are funny...making up for lack of legroom?
