9M-MRO, isn't that the aircraft that went missing in 2014?

I guess having flown on an aircraft now presumed crashed, is indeed quite rare. :)

Why is it rare? Because the plane crashed? I mean that thing was flying for more than a decade, so you know, millions flew on it. It's not rare. It's clickbait.

First class and business class is on many planes and the same fly everyday. So whats special to report.

Similar to comfortable flight, missed connections, delayed flights, whats the big deal happens everyday to hundreds of passengers.

This is a rare report for me to document, my experience on a flight that will not fly again. Hence its rare.

Thanks for your comment.

Are there many other trip reports on this website about an aircraft that a few years later went missing and is yet to be discovered? No, it's quite... rare.

Count me among those who find this amazing. It's not the first trip report I have read about an aircraft which later crashed, but it is the first one I have read about 9M-MRO and the sad legacy of that fateful flight. Although this was about four years before it went missing, it probably looked very similar inside the cabin. I've flown on B777s many times, and it always amazes me how such a large aircraft could just disappear - but then the ocean is even more vast and there are parts of this world we have never explored.

A very comprehensive TR too, I might add. Lots of photos, you didn't skimp there! Well done!

I can’t seem to find a lot of reports from aircraft that crashed. I’m sure that out of the millions of people that airplane flew, only a fraction of them cared enough to note the registration or were aviation enthusiasts. This is actually pretty cool, though in hind sight, to see a report of an airplane that would disappear a few years later and see the interior and everything.

Great trip report, very detailed with all the pictures!

I'm sharing the report so that the photos and video remain permanently on the internet.

I have tried to be as detailed as I could, knowing this will never fly. Thanks for the comments.
