Introduction
This trip was undertaken in 2009. After returning from Beijing, see trip report : Shanghai Airlines FM 9108 PEK - SHA
It was time to return to Singapore. Since it was red-eye flight, didn't see much of the outside, was still dark on arrival in Singapore.
The Shanghai airport was deserted. With only few flights departing around midnight. 2 EK's to Dubai, Turkish to Istanbul and SQ to Singapore and few domestic flights.
Had arrived early to the airport and the check-in counter wasn't open.

Terminal 2
Empty terminal as most flight had their check-in completed.
Midnight Schedule
Departure Area
Since the check-in wasn't open, had a walk around. Went upstairs to the food court, most shops were closing.

After completing check-in , passed the immigration and security which wasn't busy.

Gate area was empty as the boarding hadn't opened.

Tug in place for pushback.
Boarding was called soon. Passport and boarding cards was checked by ground staff.
Once on board, were provided with hot towel. Safety instruction were carried out. Headphones provided.

Being a mid-night flight was provided with light dinner after take off.

I didn't watch any programs on the IFE. After meal it was rest time, the cabin lights were switched off.

Connections from Terminal 2
Descend begins
Cabin came back to life, as the flight neared Singapore. Crew came with immigration forms for passengers entering Singapore. Collected the headphones.
Landing was smooth, did not take the landing as the glass was scratched and it was dark to see anything outside.

Disembarked from the flight and took the travelators

Since this was among the first arriving flights, most shops were closed.

Took 2 mins to finish immigration as I didn't require visa to Singapore, baggage came in another 5 mins. Out of terminal in 15 mins to head for Terminal 1 for another flight.
