It was time to try another widebody around Europe & this time it was Aer Lingus A330 DUB to Malaga in J cabin. Aer Lingus does not offer Business Class on anything in Europe so this ticket is booked as economy and then by choosing a 'Premium Seat' on seat selection will get you into EI's long haul biz cabin on this daily A330 to Malaga. But you will NOT get lounge access, champagne at your seat, free food / drink. Everything is BOB.
Total cost one way around 120.00EUR booked about three months ago.
BUT a few days out the reports starting coming about Hurricane Ophelia was on its way and will hit Ireland on Monday 16th (Flying Day). This was not ideal of course and did not want to be stuck at DUB for a day or two with the cancellations that were going to happen. It was looking like the big hit was coming mid/late morning so my 0700 departure I thought would be good. So in the name of trip reporting I positioned to DUB & hoped for the best.
Arrived DUB on Monday 16th at 0500. It was foggy/murky/drizzly but no strong winds or rain. I (Rather selfishly) hoped it would stay thay way.
DUB was good - clean, efficient with plenty of places to eat & drink.

Luckily my flight was leaving and on time. Did not get a shot on my aircraft on stand. Todays ride was EI-DUZ a 10.4year old A333.
Entered and found my seat.

VERDICT : My excitement & ethusiasm was somewhat drained as I learned people had died in the hurricane & RIP to all concerned.
As for the flight - it was a nice day out. I enjoyed the EI Long Haul cabin could easily do a DUB > USA in here. It's another to add to my ever growing list. Next up for me : BA B789 LHR>MAD in Club World cabin.
