Will the third one be rejected for motive? Anyway, the 4th one looks the best, IMO.

Not sure, its a creative shot but i don't think its good for a.net.

Yea I thought this was a good shot, I will give this one a try.

hey austin, the embraer needs to be more centered, and its slightly soft to me just sharpen it a bit more and you'll be fine! I've made the experience that if the picture looks a bit to sharp on my screen it works well for a.net

best regards

Yes, it's quite high in the frame.

Hello again Austin.

I like No.1 - nice colours. For me it all depends on the quality you can get from your photo.

No. 2 - A nice photo that gives us an insight into that work area - would need sharpening more. But the key problem is the overexposed external view through the windows. If you are lucky enough to get into such a place to take a photo, you need to make sure that you don't end up with a result like that if at all possible, because you are always going to struggle to get it uploaded here. The overexposed areas of white are just too much of a distraction to the eye. Even if your motive is not to upload, I would argue it can look a lot better for your personal collection if you work to get the overall exposure right.

What you need to do is look for a result like this:

The only trick here is to make an exposure reading for the outside view (just point the camera out through the window and press the shutter half way down - if it is a DSLR like mine!) then 'hold' that exposure reading or - alternately - remember the aperture/shutter speed settings, and then dial them into the camera set to 'manual'. Then switch your flash on and go for it - trying to ensure the flash doesn't reflect off any screen or anything like that to give you an unwanted highlight. The flash light 'fills in' the otherwise dark internal area - well that's the plan anyhow    and you already know the outside should be exposed correctly.

No. 3 - I wouldn't call this creative - it is just a motive that doesn't conform to A.net's general requirements. For me it doesn't quite work as an aesthetic photo - though it does give a 'documentary' view of the airport.

No. 4 - Looks good overall in nice lighting. Just be careful of the overexposed nose area.

Happy to help with any of these if you wish.

Cheers.

Paul

P.S. Delta Embraer looks nice in nice lighting but it is too high in the frame. All depends on the original here.

Thanks for all your help here!

Alright I will give it a little boost of sharpening and my idea was to show the shadows of me and my cousin but if that's not a good idea I can move it up in frame there is room.

Thanks Paul,

Yea reading these always makes me learn these tricks to good photos. I never thought about locking the exposure on the outside. I will try that next time i go and shoot flight deck photos.

Like i said to Johnsiebert, for the embraer shot I was showing the shadows of my cousin and I but I can move it up there is enough room.

Hope this one is better

Can I get some opinions on these?

Thanks in advance!

1. I am worried about the left wing, at wingtip below it.

Hi,

1. Looks good, but it's got grain (wall in the background), and...

Yeah, don't know what you've done there, looks like tried to boost the shadows only for a certain part of the frame... anyway, looks like a bed edit problem. If you can do a new edit without that, it might work.

2. Grainy (you shot at ISO 400, so to be expected), and the quality's not quite there.

3. & 4. Slightly oversharpened (esp. wing), but otherwise both should be good.

5. A little low in the frame, and just a touch too dark, otherwise should also be good.

Thanks Dana.

I scrapped the first two, I saw that they were for my personal collection. For 3-5 I uploaded so we will see how they go.

Thanks for your help!
