Pre Screening - Dark? (SNATH)

Wed Sep 16, 2009 11:37 am

Hi all,

I have two shots in the queue that I wonder whether they will get a dark rejection:

Sure, they are dark. But each shot has a good reason (IMHO) to be (there was very little available light in the first one, and the light in museum in the second one was just difficult).

Thanks for any comments.

1) A little soft as well as dark. Marginal

2) Should be fine.

I agree, not sure about the first one Tony.

Second one is awesome though, I hope that makes it. It should IMO no problem, great shot.

Royal and Ron,

Thanks for the feedback, as always!

I kind of like it due to the color of the sky (it was a fantastic sunset that day). Here's a second attempt (I brightened up a bit and increased sharpening, I left the original in for comparison):

Should I give up?

It's alot better. I would try for it & remove the darker / softer one.

It looks to me still a little soft.

Hongyin, is that the engine or the wing too? I'll try to re-edit tonight. When I tried to increase sharpening before, I started seeing ghosting... but I'll do one more try. Thanks.

I boosted sharpening a bit (but I'm already seeing some ghosting). Any better?

Hey Ron,

Thanks! Indeed, I spent quite a lot of time editing this one so I'm quite pleased it got in.

Regards,

Tony
