Pre Screening Level And Motive.

Wed Jun 07, 2006 10:53 am

Well you know where I shot this from. What a bitch to get level! Does it look level? Is the motiv ok? Not too much clutter?

leaning to the right a tad.

Just by eyeballing it, it appears it may need some CCW rotation, and the clutter is distracting, but I'm not sure if it is enough for a rejection.

What a nightmare! I may just scrap it. That pole takes your eye away from the aircraft and the background is a ton of clutter. Will have to see if the other shots I took of it are any better.

I would not scrap it. A bit of ccw rotation and position the aircraft a little higher in the frame and you should be fine.

Motive is ok, nothing blocking the aircraft. But if you don't like the shot personally then don't upload it.

Thanks Tim, I want to keep the shot in the upload queue but the leveling is driving me crazy! If I rotate it CCW more I feel the poles will be leaning to the left. Arrrggg. What do see as far the leveling goes?

I'd try treating as horizontal the roof-like structure in the terminal building, between the pillars, and/or the building above the Sun Country titles.

I tried using that building at first but if you level that roof the poles seem like they are leaning to the left and the trailors to the right look way out of whack. I used the two big light poles on the garage ramp to the left and the other light poles in the background.

NIK dont use light poles for leveling they are never straight.
I would use the buildings instead and if the screeners want to check the leveling they would look at the buildings and not the poles.
IMO it needs some CCW rotation and it should be good to go .
Good luck with it.
Cheers

Thanks Jim I am going to yank it and edit up either 809SY again or another AC I got from that similiar angle. Will post it here when done.

Ok, found a NW 757 shot from a slightly different angle, the building to the right with the surveillance camera was level with the grid in PS as was the building just above the cockpit. Does it look level? The Motiv is different than most shots you see here. I love this background more than the SCY shot. Does it have a chance at the DB?

I am kind of liking this shot though and don't have a NW AC in my collection so I may go with it. Would love to hear the screeners opinion on that building I think it's ok. I love the camera on top of it.  biggrin
