Screening inconsistency

Tue Jun 05, 2018 4:33 am

I had this photo rejected for being underexposed: https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/air ... f0b149a037

and this one for "blurry": https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/air ... b71d38b569

Not sure why rejections for 2 different photos is seen as inconsistency?
The Delta will stand a bit more brightness and is also a bit oversharpened. The Westjet does look blurry/poor quality (and a bit low in frame).

The brightness is pretty much cranked on the Delta. Also where on the Westjet do you see blurriness?

the Delta can use some 0.3 increase in brightness (which is quite a bit). The fuselage of the Westjet seems blurry and OS to compensate.

The Delta is quite a bit underexposed - looking at the levels in PS it seems you may have forgotten to adjust them? The Westjet looks out of focus and oversharpened in an attempt to fix.

I have the same question as Kas - were these rejected for different reasons previously? Unclear how this relates to inconsistency.

I appealed 3 rejections within the last 2 weeks and all 3 were accepted into the database. In fact one of the photos gained 2K views in 24 hours. You need to train your screeners better.

Good thing the appeal function works properly then.

Also, in the past 2 weeks you're 3/5 in appeals, not 3/3.

That should not be the only way to get a photo accepted. But it appears to be that way.

It certainly isn't, but you have a long history of complaining about "unfair rejections".

You need to learn how to read the Levels histogram - it's flat on the white end meaning the image is underexposed.

A quick levels adjustment on the left half of the image shows how dark the original is:
