Hi, I had this shot rejected for dark. I was somewhat surprised given it's a fairly common motive on the site.

The difference is that all the above you linked are against a bright sky, thus giving some much-needed contrast between aircraft and surroundings. In your shot the aircraft kind of blends in awkwardly with the background.
Not sure there's much you can do; I personally like it but can see why it wouldn't be acceptable here.

I tend to agree with what Karl wrote. Perhaps it can be solved by lifting the shadows, but no guarantees.

A photo like this getting rejected for motive/dark shows just how ignorant the screeners are of what makes this site popular. Disappointing. It's a lovely shot, Steve - do you post your photos that don't make it here anywhere else?

There is room for improvement I think. I added +0.30 exposure and +5 contrast. The values can be played with a bit.
