Thanks Kas. I’ll pull back the sharpness in these areas and put into my screening queue.

Another one at from the same day as the last one but towards the end of sunset. I have pulled the orange back a bit but need opinions as to should I pull it back some more.

Also I think it may be low in frame a little????

Thanks

I'm not entirely sure on color... I want to say it may be acceptable but I think you should wait for another comment.

Framing looks ok IMO.

Framing and colors look OK to me, considering that it's near sunset.
It does look a little oversharped though.

After a couple of unexpected rejections I finally made it to 100!

A huge thanks to all the regulars on this forum that have helped me to improve right from picture 1!

This is the one that made 100 ...

Histogram adjustments based on that edit:
left slider + 15
middle slider +20
right slider to 240

Should be good to go then.

Hi all :-)

Just after a bit of feedback on this Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 taken at an airshow this week. It was doing just under 1000km/h in a high speed pass so I am pretty happy to have got what I have .. just after opinions on if it is database standard.

If there is some editing needed, please let me know as I would love to get this into my profile.

Would this photo be deemed acceptable for the database - both in its composition and quality? Was taken at a recent airshow.

Thanks :-)

The Hornet is certainly not bad, but looks underexposed. Be careful not to overexpose the sky though.
The 737 is nice from a personal POV, but a bit too distant I suppose.

Thanks Kas. I brought the exposure up on the Hornet slightly before adding to my screening queue as I my second thought on it was the same. Hopefully I haven't gone too far.

As for the Wedgetail (737) I have brought the crop in a bit to make it a little closer. Do you feel this helped it chances?

This one was rejected an appealed and rejected again for low contrast. As I can’t appeal an appeal, how much more contrast does it need to be accepted?

Thanks
Chris.

Hi Chris,
For the AC B788. As you can see the bottom of the wing and the main gears have slight grey which shows it deserves a little bit contrast. IMO, 15-20 would be enough. As the weather was not very kind, you might be also need to pay attention to the exposure ;). Hope can help.

Regards,
Harry

Just a quick and huge thanks to this community .. yesterday, one of my photos was selected as a Photographer's Choice which was a huge surprise for me as I still have a lot to learn about taking great shots. A Huge thanks to everyone here who has helped improve my photos since I started adding to the database at the end of last year!!

This is the photo that made it ..

I look forward to shooting more .. and maybe shooting enough good shots to make a featured album or photographer! :-)

.. more pics to come soon!! :-)

Hi. After some feedback on this rejection that I just got for this photo ..

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/1/8/6/5244681.jpg?v=v4a66af1a394

It was rejected for Blurry, low contrast, colour, quality and soft with a screener message of “yellow color cast”.

I haven’t had so many reasons for rejection in a long time so my question is... is it really that bad and could editing fix it (of course if it’s blurry then no editing will fix)

Just after some opinions.

Thanks
Chris

It looks like the blur is bad enough to make the photo unfixable; personally I would downsize any photo affected by any blur that is only minor, but I highly doubt that this would be the case.

Hi All

Just after some feedback on these that I took today. They are the same sequence but I cant decide which is better .. or if either of them are good enough at all. I reset my camera settings and forgot to change back to RAW so I am hoping one of them is OK but I need some help. I think Version 1 is the one I would go for but any feedback you have is appreciated.

Version 1

Version 2

Thanks

Just after some feedback on this one. I haven't done too many below aircraft shots so just curious to see how I went and if it would be acceptable?

Underexposed, but if you increase, you'll likely blow out the sky. Also not the greatest of appealing angles (but that's personal).

In the current crop it will be motive. If you show the cockpit/more of the most left Spit, then it would have a better chance.

Quick question - is the site still experiencing technical issues leading to screening delays? Still have 2 photos from 20/11 screening sitting as "High Quality" "HQ1" and another with the same "High Quality" "HQ1" from screening day 21/11. Hopefully no issues but just checking as it is a little unusual for the queue as I also had 2 other images screened and accepted today from the queue of 23/11.

Thanks

I see VH-VKK/-PRX/-VFN in the HQ. Will try to process them tonight if someone doesn't beat me to it. Are these the photo in question? If not, what are the registrations and upload ID's?
