Pre-Screen

Sun Feb 04, 2018 4:26 pm

Hello,

Here are a couple of my recent shots from MSN. Are any of them worthy? It was a cloudy day unfortunately which limited light thus ISO 400 was used. Let me know your feedback.

Canon 80D with 70-200 f/2.8 IS (all shots taken at 200mm)

Hi,

The lighting is fine, but all 3 images are quite noisy and a little blurry. The first image could also use some more contrast.
The last photo is not salvagable for A.net, the first 2 might be, but it would be an uphill battle.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it is somewhat due to my post workflow.

Is this much better?

Hi wildwobby, the last edit looks better yes. But I can still see a lot of noise on the fuselage. It`s just not smooth. Some parts look a bit oversharpened to me (titles) a of and other parts look soft (windows). First of all I would upload this in smaller size than the 1400 it`s now. Flaws show up less that way. But I doubt it`s salvageable to be honest.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Here is my latest from this morning. I think it is my best yet except the overcast skies are meh. FedEx was late so it was after sunrise and the snow gave some interesting under-lighting. Is this passable? Let me know what you think.

I think I prefer the higher exposure version, but it's a bit blurry and voersharpened.

The FedEx got accepted! First photo in DB for me.

Do either of these have any chance? I think #1 is better, but I thought #2 is an interesting angle.

Hi,

For me, both of them are backlit and can not be acceptable based on A.net rules and guidelines.

Hi my friend.

Do not get sad :) Do you have the originals to we discuss if any of them can be improved? About the first one, why you crop the tail stabilizer/elevator and wing? Any reason?

Best Regards,

Sorry you feel sad and of course it's never fun to get rejections, however the images are indeed very affected by heathaze. Unfortunately that happens and will occur more often now that summer is approaching again.

You have to pick your times to shoot at LAX. Late morning to mid-afternoon are generally terrible for heat haze.

Morning and evening are the best.
