Creative Rejection - Motive

Thu Oct 26, 2017 8:55 am

Hi all,

Had this one rejected from the creative team,
https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/air ... d52c700070

Rejected for Motive with a personal message "Sorry, motive doesn't work."

Seems three screeners took a look with two asking for a second opinion.

Just wanting to confirm that the pilot in view is the reason for the motive rejection.

Thanks

Steve

Hey Steve,

The creative queue is screened by the HS only and the procedure is that all of us give a SO and the last one processes the photo (unless a 3-0 vote is achieved, then the 4th HS is not needed). In this case I was the first screener, and remarked that I thought the prop edges looked oversharpened and that I didn't like the motive. With the motive, the pilot is the main issue. It's a guy standing on a wing, leaning forward with his hands near his crotch (I know he's strapping the chute/whatever). But it still doesn't make for a great motive for me. Maybe if he had been in another pose, it would've been different. 2 other HS seemed to agree, making it a majority vote (3-0 in favor of a rejection for it).

Hope that explains the rejection and process a bit.

I quite like it, although whether it's actually creative is a subject for conjecture.......

Actually creative... given it was screened by the creative team, and not thrown into the queue with the 'normal' shots, then I guess for a.net it is creative... just not creative enough.
Creative in the real world... not really.

Just for some variety of opinion, Steve...

It doesn't really work for me. I thought the pilot was zipping up his fly at first....
