Pre/Post Screening - Kris

Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:19 pm

Hi All,

I got a bit frustrated over recent rejections. I mean, it has always been a hit and miss process, but now there is more miss than hit. Much more :(
The reason for frustration is that I haven't changed anything with my technique, camera settings, or software.
Could you please advise me on the following photos?

This one got rejected because of high contrast. (There are some dust spots, but I will sort it out later)

This one was previously overexposed and soft.

That one had noise and yellow cast.

Thanks very much for you help!

Cheers,
Kris

Hi Kris,

#1 is contrasty and should be an easy fix (including the dust spots).
#2 is a tough one due to the top lighting which is rendering the top of the fuselage as over exposed. But not so bad for me. Not sure it is soft--actually looks oversharpened to me.
#3 There is some noise in the upper third of the frame, but passable for me. Image has a yellow color cast though and should be an easy fix in editing.

Hello Kris,
A319 : Contrast indeed little bit high and dirty spot are there. But these peoblems are easy to fix as Jehan said.
Fokker 100 : Because of the Top Light condtion it would be hard to adjust the exposure reducing little bit high light or exposure might be better i think. But the sharpness of it looks ok to me.
Wing View : The color seems not bad to me but you can reduce little bit yellow. Noise appear above the piture i think.
Cheers,
Harry

Thanks a lot for you response :)
I revised the photos and re-uploaded. Hopefully this that they will get approved.

Now, I have quite tricky nighttime photos.
Is any of these acceptable?

Hi Kris,

Uploading both images would result in a double rejection. I would pick the nicest one (in my humble opinion that's photo #1). It needs a bit more CW rotation (to the right), but otherwise looks quite nice as is.
