Questionable photos

Sun Aug 06, 2017 10:25 pm

I feel as if these photos are great to submit, but maybe not?? What do you all suggest I do to change the edits etc...? *I think the exposure is a tad high and clarity can go down a bit

This next one I took at Oshkosh and I submitted it and it got rejected for the reasons:
- Blurry
- Compression
- Heat Haze
- Soft
And the personal message said "Insufficient quality for size"

Could I be able to fix the things above in post processing by just starting over or is it just not a good image overall? What image size should this one be?

Emirates: Poor crop (engines cut off, needs a closer crop on the left), low in frame, noisy, backlit, oversharpened, insufficient quality for such a large size.
Air France: Poor crop (needs a tighter crop), flat, noisy, overedited, we don't allow the use of gradients, left in frame, insufficient quality for the size.
JetBlue: low contrast, overedited, we don't allow the use of gradients, blurry, noisy, insufficient quality for the size.

All 3 are WAY overedited and show a lot of shadow/highlight tool usage. I doubt any of them will make it, sorry.

The AA seems salvagable at a smaller size (1200-1400px). But as is, it's noisy, low in frame and needs counter-clockwise rotation.

As a general advice I'd recommend to shoot with the sun in the back (and possibly not at midday) and to keep away from the shadow / highlight tool or anything similar. These things should only be used with care at a low amount if anything.
