Oshkosh 2017 pre/post screening: zachary165

Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:53 pm

I took approximately 48GB of photos during my week at Oshkosh. This thread will only be for the ones that I would like a second opinion on.

This was rejected for soft and a personal message telling me to reupload at a smaller size. Since I still had the file open in photoshop, I just went back a couple steps on my workflow to undo the sizing and sharpening. I resubmitted it at 1100px, and it as rejected a second time for quality, soft, low in frame, and low contrast.

Here is the original. I also have the RAW but don't know of a hosting site for RAW files

Also, I searched far and wide for a registration on this one. I could not find any. Is that still acceptable?

The Raptor is blurry and that photo won't make it, sorry. Perhaps you have a better photo?
Your second photo seems to be N39109, a Bleriot XI (replica) with c/n 2. (http://www.rodbearden.com/Oshkosh%20201 ... 9%202.html). I would instant add that photo.

Not from Oshkosh, but this was rejected for motive due to the chairs in the picture. I personally think that the chairs weren't avoidable because they were for the pilots that were answering questions that I had to crop out of the original photo. Besides that, They arent all that distracting and don't detract from the main focal point of the GAU-8 gun

Zach, there is nothing special about the aircraft or the composition that would over-ride this "normal" rejection for motive. IMO the chairs are rather distracting especially the one on the right with the additional clutter around it.
