PreScreening Miguel - Level

All,

I'm trying to level the following image without much luck. Every time I step away from the PC and return I see it needing rotation, sometimes CW and sometimes CCW. I know that the wide angle distortion (32mm on full frame) doesn't help with the references, but still without trying to find verticals or horizontals, I can't make up my mind.

What's your feeling? Please note that no other editing has been done, so no need to judge contrast, exposure, sharpness and so on.

Thanks! :)

M

It looks like it needs some ccw rotation. The water and the horizon in the background just doesnt`look okay like this to me.

Hola Miguel,

I agree with Stefan, I would use the water as well for levelling. I guess this comes closest to what feels to be level.

See you!

A lot of verticals appear level when 0.8 CCW is applied.

I agree with others. The level needs CWW but not much just a little is enough.

Thanks all for the quick responses. Will try that CCW, edit the shot completely, throw it on the queue and stop looking at it every half an hour! :)

Another levelling question (one of my pet peeves). How do you see it? I have used the grey building in the middle as a reference.

Thanks!

Hola Miguel,

Level Looks fine to me. Contrast is a bit harsh though for my personal taste, would look better with less contrast.

Cheers,
Julien

Hey Miguel,

What I usually do is drag the entire internet window down to my taskbar, which is black. That way, I can easily determine level. For reference, I would use the roof of the concrete building behind the silos. It seems a bit contrasty, but hard to say given that I can't see the image at its intended resolution (the link leads me to this message: "This photo is private. Oops! Thanks guys. I will tone the contrast down a bit.

Full size (1400px) can be seen here (I hope!)

CCW. you can add an adjust layer and increase the contrast to help judging. Then zoom out the view (less than 25%), the next thing is easy.
