Post Screening: feedback requested
Over spring break, the president decided to pay a visit to my hometown. Naturally, I went. I submitted a shot and it was rejected for high contrast and being common. I understand that common is never used by itself. Advice on how to better edit this photo is appreciated. The aircraft is a bit dark due to the sunset light.

Don't want to sound too hostile in my response but this looks you just need to take the contrast down a bit. The image has a deeper harsher contrast that darkens out the underside of the wing and rear lower part of the aircraft too much.

I agree with what Len wrote. Perhaps with a touch of extra brightness as well.

Looking at the titles, there also seems to be some heat haze that is affecting the overall quality of the image. I looked at the original image at 100% and it is very noticeable. I'd try 1024 pixels instead of 1200 pixels.
