Feedback on photo Brazilain Air Force 737

Fri Mar 24, 2017 12:55 am

I don't post photos in the gallery here but today I took a photo of this Brazilian Air Force 737. There are many photos of it already but none of it retired near the entrance of the Iguazu Falls National Park. It could make a nice addition to the collection.

What are my chances of getting this shot approved? Any feedback welcome.

Hi, first of all i have to say the size of this photo is too big is it your original photo ? I think you can have a try 1200 or 1024. Besides, i think it is too low in the frame you can try to move it upper. Maybe you can try to show another photo here after using small size because A.net won't accept such a big size photo.
Cheers,
Harry

It's very low in frame and quite noisy. Perhaps also a little underexposed. After a final edit, we can probably judge the photo better.
Nice catch though!

Thanks. I was obviously not going to submit a non compliant size. I will try and post different versions in smaller sizes. However regarding the framing, I can't move it up but I can remove some sky which will center the subject.

Thanks. What do you mean by noisy? Underexposed? Cloudy sky that is. Will try some digital boosting.

Underexposed means the photo needs more brightness. Noisy means that there is a lot of grain in the image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_noise

Hi again. After your remarks I've made some adjustments, first by centering the aircraft in the photo. The I tried various adjustments to balance the underexposure. As for the grain, I think it compares with many photos on A.net although there are many of higher quality I must admit. If indeed there is too much of a grain, I'm not sure any digital tweaking would help but I'm open to suggestions.

Hello , i have seen your link. And i prefer the forth because after having comparison with others his one is more real especially the light and color.(Acturally the first one is ok to me.)
02. In my personal opinion, there is a little Overexposed i am not very sure.
03. It can be brighter besides the saturability of this one is too high you can tell it from the grass color .
05. It seems that you use HDR on this photo or what ? The saturability is too high and it is very bright so that it leads to obvious grain in the sky .It is very unreal.
In addition , i think the photo has a little Over-sharpened not very sure.
Cheers,
Harry

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. I have not used any sharpening on any of them except that the HDR treatment may add some. I agree with you HDR gives an unreal look which I am not a big fan of.
