Hopefully these links work - I haven't tried linking to rejected photos since the site upgrade...

This was originally rejected for Underexposed. I thought it might be OK given the tail brightness, so I appealed. Unfortunately, it came back with:

Personal
Quality
Soft
CW Rotation
Underexposed

I can deal with the underexposed, and I suppose the CW rotation, though I think it's nitpicky. But Quality and Soft have me puzzled. If this one lacks quality, then I'm never going to get another low-light / high ISO shot accepted, as this is one of the better ones in my collection. I don't really find it soft either, given that it was shot at ISO5000 and has had some noise reduction to account for that.

Anyway, opinions appreciated:

Hey Vik,

okay I can see the CW-Rotation being required, also surely not a lot.
Otherwise it doesn't look soft to me neither and the quality seems allright for such a night shot.

To me the exposure looks also fine, given that the tail and the illuminated buidlings are bright, but yes that's an easy fix and perhaps a rather subjective feeling.

I found it a little underexposed, but otherwise it should be fine. Not sure either why it also got soft/quality.

Hi Vik,

CW seems very minor (passable IMO) based on tower. However, I see noise in the sky on the under the tail cone area as well as the bottom of the fuselage. Titles are a tad soft, but passable for me.

That's just a symptom of shooting at high ISO. You're never going to get all the noise to disappear, so as long as it's reasonably controlled, I don't worry about it (I have many photos in the DB with similar noise).
