Pre-Screening: kann123air

Fri Nov 18, 2016 4:33 pm

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted... I hope everyone's doing well!

I got these shots out at XNA last night, and I'm pretty happy at how they came out. I don't have much experience with low-light photography so I thought I'd get your opinions on them.

Amrit,

Very nice shots, but both look blurry and certainly noisy (the CRJ more than the ERJ).

Agree with Sunandan. The CRJ is also underexposed and both could use additional contrast. I looked at your Exif data and see that your ISO is at 2000 which is likely the cause of the visible noise. I'm not that good with NR, so I keep my ISO's below 1000.

Thanks for the input, guys. Knew they had issues but thought they were worth a shot anyway.

Only my opinion but I like them. Not over sharpened or over saturated which appears, to me at least, to be the trend these days. In low light it's harder to beat the rules of physics.

Hey guys,

Took this one today at XNA. She's a smidge blurry, but I wonder if that's alright considering the nature of the shot. Thoughts?

She got rejected this morning for blurry, info, personal, and quality... Thoughts?

Amrit, the image is definitely blurry (visible in the tail fin); the aircraft also shows noise, perhaps what elicited the quality rejection. Not sure that the blurry is fixable.

Panning especially in low light is tough (at least for me); The Exif shows ISO 200. You could bump up your ISO to about 1000 and if you are not already doing so, shoot in RAW.

Keep practicing though. FYI, night shots do require meticulous post processing.

Sorry Amrit, that's way too blurry.
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

Hey guys, I'd like to get your thoughts on this one. Is blur and issue?

Image looks a tad blurry to me. I think it would work at 1200 pix or better yet at 1024 pix wide. Nice ambient lighting on it.

Hey guys, I just got this pegged for quality, soft, and noisy.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/98326903@N ... 0/sizes/o/

I'd like to know where specifically it's soft and noisy, and whether the shot is fixable or not.

EDIT: Oops! I didn't see the screener's comment. It basically answered the question above. Please ignore this post... :)

Thanks,
Amrit
