post screening: zachary165

Tue Aug 30, 2016 2:15 am

a few from my last set of ORD pictures were rejected today and I'd just like a second opinion on some of them

Image

dark and vignetting: personally, I don't see any darkness on this one. There may be vignetting in the right but I'm not experienced enough to tell

Image

dark and noisy: Again, I don't see darkness and the noise is at an acceptable level given what else I've had accepted on here

Image

dark and overexposed:

Image

soft: I can't really tell softness that well

Some very questionable rejection reasons there if you ask me. The UA is no darker than the bizjet, so I'm not sure why it wasn't thrown for dark as well; to be honest they could both stand a little more brightness. I see vignetting on the bizjet, mostly to the right, as you say. The two AAs look fine to me - they're about what I'd expect given the angles.

I won't discuss soft as I seems not in sync with A.net screeners here, but I don't see any banding and I do see quite prominent vignetting (top right and left side). Generally, I suggest that you must try to use some lens corrections settings in your editing software.

C750: Looks fine, although the cheatlines seem a bit jaggy/hazed.
B738: Looks fine.
MD80: Could be a bit brighter (try adding some "fill light" in the RAW converter).
B737: Tad soft.
B755: Looks fine.

I agree on blurry and soft. Color looks passable.

"gle" and from the nosegear forward. The "Embraer 175" and "Operated by Envoy air" look blurry.

I can see how the faded paint on the top of the fuselage may look like overexposed which is what the screener likely responded to. For a close-up, parts of the image ( "ection and the nose gear and "CRJ900") look blurry to me. It could also use some additional contrast. Lower part of the fuselage shows some noise (grain).
