Opinion on this photo

Sun Aug 21, 2016 2:29 am

Any thoughts on whether these pics will make it? Still new at this, but hopefully getting closer....

On the Emirates, disregard the cropping, which I still need to do - but what are your thoughts on the quality/motive etc.

The photo doesn't show.
I would also advise to make just 1 thread and post all your photos in there, in stead of multiple threads for one photo each.

The image looks a bit on the bright side (over exposed) to me.

This photo looks really nice. I like the motive because I'm a person, who likes Airbus a lot more than Boeing. Emirates is one of my favorite airlines.

The quality is really good and detailed.

Regards Finn :)

EK A380: I just saved it and had a go at an edit. The original isn't great (it's blurry), but I got a somewhat decent result at 1200px wide. Motive is not an issue. It needs more contrast and some sharpening (but be careful not to get oversharpened area, so I suggest you sharpen in layers and use the eraser on jaggy areas). Use a bit of noise reduction, but not too much. Lastly, it's indeed a bit 'hot' as we call it, meaning it's a bit overexposed. Try reducing the brightness slightly, but make sure you don't end up with a picture that's dark.

As for your second photo, the link doesn't work.

Feel free to post the final edited image here so we can have a look.

I posted already in your other thread concerning the same photo, but I'll add here that I see softness, rather than any blur.

Yep, it shows now. If that's the final version; it looks very oversharpened/jaggy and also has a yellow cast (see below). Quality doesn't look too great, but perhaps it displays compressed due to being embedded. I also notice you named it "quality 10". It's better to save it in the highest quality (12), especially since the filesize is not an issue anymore with the new A.net.

left yours, right mine (I only used autocolor)

Exposure looks better. It looks a little bit off center (Left-in-Frame). I would give it a closer crop.

I agree it can use a closer crop in general.
