Hi all,
This is a little less about aircraft and a good bit more about photography.
Over the past few years there has been tons of new cameras and lenses launched, not just new cameras but new systems such as mirror less cameras.

Yesterday i noticed my old sigma 70\300 is literally falling apart,so i though it was time to hunt for a new lens.

The root question looking at the second hand prices of equipment, can i expect to see a reduction in price of Canon L lens anytime in the near future?

Hard to say.

The price of second hand lenses is determined by

- the condition of the lens
- the quantity available for sale (if you have more lenses than buyers then it may be cheaper)
- has a newer version of that lens been released which increases the quantity of the lens you want to buy as others upgrade to the latest shiny new toy.

Look into the Canon refurbished online store, or B&H's used department. Anything there quality 8 or above is a good bet.

To get a lens in good shape, they're not going to be 50% off or anything. But you can find great used lenses that are maybe 20-30% cheaper than new.

I've bought both lenses and camera bodies used, from acquaintances, and off of Craigslist. Never had an issue. But I deliberately don't look at the ones that are really cheap.
