Recommendations for a Bridging Camera?

Tue Dec 25, 2018 3:28 pm

Hi guys, I'm new to airplane spotting and won't be a regular spotter. I've set my sights on a Bridging camera already but I do not know which are the best and was wondering what are some recommendations that you may all give but without having an expensive price tag.
(please do post some shots of the camera that you use so as to allow me to determine which camera I should purchase
Thank You!!

I bought a Nikon D3300 as my first DSLR camera four years ago and still use it to this day. The D3200/3300/3400 are all well-known to be great DSLR cameras for starters. You can usually get a new one for $450-600 online (I don't remember exactly how much mine cost, but it was somewhere in that range), which I think is pretty reasonable considering I've got my money's worth out of mine.

I have the 18-55mm AF-S, 55-200mm AF-S, and 70-300mm AF lenses. I personally would get the 55mm and 300mm. I use the 300mm for about 90% of my images and it's perfect for arial shots of arrivals at my airport, whereas I use the 55mm for displays at airshows and aircraft on the ramp up close. But I guess you could use the smaller lens to shoot really anything you want that's right in front of you.

Not really experienced with Canon much, so I'm sure someone else can recommend you one if you want to go down that path.
