Please could someone provide an update on:
- when IST is scheduled to close;
- when the new IST is scheduled to open. (It is appreciated that there may be some crossover and no clear cut-off.)
- and lastly whether there are going to be any suitable photography locations at the new IST.
It is appreciated that some of this information may be on the internet but some local insight would be helpful.

According to the latest issue of Scramble:
The new Istanbul Airport will open for commercial flights on 29 October. A day later the transition of flights from Istanbul-Ataturk will start. Turkish Airlines is planning to end its operations at Ataturk on 31 October. The “IST” airport code will transfer from Ataturk to the new airport on 30 October. After all flights moved to the new airport the old airport will become a business aviation airport.

Will the old IST then be reduced in area? I imagine that some valuable land could be freed for development.
