Hello everybody,
I'll be in Sydney for some days in March 2018 and already start to search for spotting locations. Below are the questions, but I really appreciate any other recommendations.
For this kind of shot I read they were normally taken from Rydges Hotel but its terrace is closed. Now they recommend going to the International Terminal Staff-Carpark right next to Rydges Hotel which offer similar views with the skyline in the background. If its correct, how many mm would be necessary? No problems with security there?
Pictures showing the beach and aircrafts are ok anywhere near the old control tower?
And last, for air-to-air shots, which company is better for renting helicopters? 70-300mm on full frame would be enough or 150-500 is more suitable? Whats the altitude for the flight and what are the restricted areas?

From the car park, probably won't be any problems with security there - I would usually have a 200-400mm lens on Nikon full frame camera.
Near the old control tower, you can park there for ages and take as many side on shots as you want.
For the helicopter shots, I prefer Sydney Helitours. I've used them before. It will be expensive though.
