I was making some tests this morning and you're right, the noise reduction emphasizes the banding in the sky. However the problem seems to be present also in the original file, but not so accentuated and maybe in an acceptable level which would not result in a rejection of the photo.
So using the right fit in noise reduction I think we can get a picture acceptable for the Airliners' standards. As soon I'm having some free slots for upload I'll try to upload again this shot worked with less noise redution.
