De-icing fluid creating heat haze?

Hello.
Was taking some long exposures of de-icing the other day and ended up with one frame where the aircraft was being sprayed with de-icing fluid and noticed how the area of the aircraft where the fluid is being sprayed is very soft, while the nose of the aircraft where no fluid is being sprayed, was sharper. Possibly because of the heat haze caught on the long exposure.
Could this be the deal?

Looks to me more like a Depth of Field issue. Look how all the nose gear is out of focus / not sharp as well, even if there is no deicing being done there.

I was thinking the same as Miguel. While it's possible that some parts could be blurry due to exhaust heat from the trucks, I think it's unlikely that the issues in the above image are caused by that or hot fluid.

It is blurred.
No matter how steady the camera is, presumably on a tripod, the aircraft will have been buffeted by the jets of de-icing fluid during the exposure and any slight wind will also move the aircraft about.

Well it definitely isn't a depth of field issue, at 500mm and F8 at this field of view, every part of the plane should be in focus. Can't even get a depth of field like this if I turned it to F2.8.

Sounds legit to me but how is the cockpit still so much sharper?
