first of all I think the new "Explore other great photos" section is great, so this isn't meant to be criticism.
The first two sections are clear to me, "other photos by this photographer" shows the 6 newest photos of a photographer, "other...of this aircraft" shows the 6 most popular shots of a certain type.
But what is with "other great photos from this location" it does show neither the newest nor the most popular shots. To me it seems like randomly shots that were accepted lately, though popular ones don't seem to appear.
Is there a certain logic behind it?
Surely not the most important issue ever, but I've asked this myself a couple of times and couldn't find an answer.

The logic is to find other great photos from that location. Random, yes, otherwise it would just be the same 6 photos sitting there.
