CRJ1000 1:200 scale

Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:22 am

Hi everyone,

I’m desperately looking for 1:200 scale CRJs 1000. Any former or upcoming models??
I contacted GeminiJets team and it’s still not scheduled :(((

None of the major manufacturers has made a 1:200 CRJ-1000 mould. From searching around, it seems like there really aren't any in any scale, either resin or diecast, except one or two cheap 1:100 models. Not likely to be for a while either, since there are quite few liveries to be done and little interest in regional jets.

Thanks... But in history there were few CRJs (200 - recently Delta, 700 & 900) made at this scale so why not a 1000 variant ? Even if this type isn’t so popular... Personally I love this one and regional jets in particular, so I hope someday it will happen.

Because unpopular types don't have enough demand to cover development costs for manufacturers. There are only about 10 liveries that could be produced so far, and many of those aren't very popular. Maybe in 20 years if the -1000 gets some additional operators would this be a worthwhile mould. Look how long it took for the CRJ-100/200 models to get produced; it's only just now happening in 1:200. There have been tons of livery options for years.

On the one hand, more types have been getting new moulds lately: A310, all A340s, A220, CRJ 100/200, DC-8-72. etc. On the other hand, even some new or widely-flown types don't get made, or the moulds don't get much use: A300, 727, 737-600, A318, SSJ, MD-11, ATR-42, etc. It just doesn't seem likely that we'll see a CRJ-1000. In fact, this is the first request I've seen for it, and I regularly visit diecast forums. Personally, I'm waiting for a good Superjet, but I think we have equal odds.

Thanks, I understand better the global situation and the way choices are made for the launch of moulds.
We all want our favorites planes to be made lol
