FSX, DC-10, ILS

Thu Feb 15, 2018 12:37 am

Hello,

I purchased for FSX the DC-10 add on and have mastered flying the aircraft except for one thing...I can not figure out how to get the ILS to activate when landing the aircraft. I set the course and nav frequency and then click on the ILS button but nothing happens. Anyone have any idea as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your responses!

Use NAV 1 not NAV 2. Check with your FSX map and hoover point mouse ILS freq what is number 109.10 shows something like that. It might be change old ILS freq as today chart was changed. It depends. I'm not using FSX. I'm user of FS2004.

You also have to make sure you meet the glideslope from the underside for best results. Usually between 1700-1800ft for best results. Also you cannot be in GPS mode and intercept, you have to be in NAV mode.

Without knowing the specifics of the add-on, check to make sure you also have a "APPR" or "APR" (Approach) button selected. This will allow the aircraft to fly the glide slope on autopilot.
