Did installing ORBX airport sceneries change the autogen settings?

Fri Dec 08, 2017 2:46 am

I recently purchased KPSP as well as YMML from ORBX, bypassing the "required" ORBX FTX landclasses. However, I've noticed weirdness with the landclass in other cities, in particular, the autogen settings appear to have been changed such that they only appear much closer and take a lot longer to pop up. Are there configurations ORBX may have changed on the back end to accomodate their sceneries? Can this be modified back to normal?

Here are photos of what I'm currently experiencing. This only started occurring after installing KPSP and YMML V3, as well as FTX Central 3.

My FSX started doing this exact thing after I installed Orbx England region. I just put it down to my computer not being anywhere near the most powerful machine, but maybe there's something behind it. :scratchchin:

I didn't install their landclass regions, just the two airports, but it appears Orbx will "punish" users whom do not purchase the landclass and causing irreversible damage.

So I've restored the lclookup.bgl file in the scenery/base/scenery folder, and it looks like the autogen is coming back better. Not 100%, but I can tolerate it. So in a nutshell, ORBX did change the autogen settings by using its own lclookup file, which is disappointing given that I am only trying to install specific airports.

I've also removed FTX Central 3, as that automatically modifies the lclookup.bgl file. I'm going to manually install the two airport sceneries to see if that causes any other undesirable side effects.
