Starting this topic here, since Non-Av really wasn't the place for it.
Anyone into drones/quadcopters? I watched a guy on YouTube use them to chase down and take photos/videos of cruise ships departing port, and soon found myself watching dozens of hours on various types of drones, the technology involved, and so forth. I agonized over getting one but finally picked out a DJI Mavic Pro and absolutely LOVE it - I've only had it a month and have already logged over 50 miles in the air.
Anyone else into this hobby? Favorite drones, places to fly, etc?

I have a drone, though it's as a tool in my film making arsenal rather than a hobby. I use a DJI Mavic Pro because it's "easy" to travel with and it's video quality is passable. There are a lot of shots that can only be obtained from a drone, so it's a must have, but due to limitations with camera quality I will try to use a proper camera as often as possible.
