Create your own airline

Tue May 30, 2017 8:31 am

This is a forum game where you post your own, imaginative airline. There will be NO MONEY to make this easier. The game is now in 2000.

Steps:
1. Airline name - what is your airline's name? (e.g. Air London)
1 1/2. Type - what is the type of airline? Major, Low-cost, Minor, or Cargo?
2. Headquarters - where is your headquarters? (e.g. London Stansted)
3. Hubs - where are your hubs? (e.g. London Heathrow, London Stansted etc.)
4. Focus cities - where are your focus cities? (e.g. Paris CDG etc.)
5. Fleet - what is your fleet? (e.g. 552x Boeing 767-200ER)

Regional - ATR72, ATR42, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, CRJ200, CRJ900, Fokker 50 etc.
Short haul - A318, A319, A320, A321, B737, SSJ100, TU154 etc.
Medium haul - B757, A310, A300, TU204 etc
Long haul - MD11, A340, A330, A380, A350, B777, B787, B767, B747 etc.

6. Aircraft configs - how are your aircraft configured? (e.g. All Economy. Y: 3-3-3 pitch 19in.)
7. Codeshares - does your airline have codeshares? (e.g. BA LHR-JFK, LHR-EWR)
8. Frequent Flyer Miles - write down the name and tiers of your FF program. (e. g. TT Miles: Blue, Platinum)
9. Member lounges - do you have, and where are your lounges? (e.g. LHR, LGW)
10. Subsidiaries - do you have subsidiaries? If you do, what are they called? Start from step 1 for these subsidiaries. (e.g. London Express)
11. Flights.

There are a few rules -
If you are a LCC, you can ONLY choose Short and Medium Haul aircraft.
If you are a Cargo Airline, you can ONLY choose Short, Medium and Long Haul aircraft.
No making up aircraft. (e.g. A390, or A323, or A318F)
Make sure your aircraft have reasonable lifespans. (don't make your F50 last 130 years)
Helicopters are allowed, but they can't take up more than 20% of your fleet.
You can join one of the following alliances:

SkyTeam
Star Alliance
oneworld
Value Alliance (LCCs ONLY)
Vanilla Alliance
U-FLY Alliance (Cargo ONLY)

And finally:
Step 12: BEGIN!

As our many Avro RJ75 aircraft are ageing, we are now evaluating a list of replacement aircraft for these -
1. More Avros
2. The larger Avro RJ85
3. Airbus A319 - too big?
4. ATR 72-500
5. The NEW ATR 72-600
6. Embraer ERJ135 - too small?
7. Embraer ERJ140/145 - also too small?
8. The new Embraer E175?
9. Bombardier CRJ700/900 - requires new training and range problems
10. Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 - requires new training and range problems
11. Antonov An-148 - requires new training + simulators and low quality

The new Embraer E-175 has been selected as the replacement aircraft for our Avro RJ75s. These have been selected as they have similar size and range, and have a decent passenger rating. The new simulators are now being installed at MAL's Casablanca training centre. We are, however, planning to keep a few (2-9) RJ75s for fallback and charters. We have placed an order for 7 E175s to be delivered in October.
Names:
CN-HJY (Endeavour)
CN-HJZ (Discovery)
CN-HKB (City of Kanye)
CN-HKF (City of Bangkok)
CN-HKG (City of Nairobi)
CN-HKH (Jamal)
CN-HKI (City of Mumbai)

All of our ordered Embraer E-Jets have arrived at our Casablanca base. We are using these jets for flights between Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh and Tangiers for crew familiarisation purposes. Over 130 pilots have applied to transfer to the Embraers. We are releasing a list of flights that these E-Jets will replace the RJ75s on:

CN-HJY (Endeavour) - Casablanca-Algiers
CN-HJZ (Discovery) - Casablanca-Oran
CN-HKB (City of Kanye) - Casablanca-Alexandria
CN-HKF (City of Bangkok) - Casablanca-Tenerife
CN-HKG (City of Nairobi) - Casablanca-Tripoli
CN-HKH (Jamal) - Casablanca-Tunis, Casablanca-N'Djamena
CN-HKI (City of Mumbai) - Casablanca-Palermo, Casablanca-Seville.

A further 4 E-175s are being ordered:

CN-IOS (Anne)
CN-IOT (City of Marrakesh)
CN-IOZ (City of Durban)
CN-IOV (Joanna)

Also, a further 10 E-Jet series simulators have been ordered, in conjunction with the 2 E-Jet emergency crew training sims.

We have signed a letter of intent (LOI) for 12 additional Airbus A330-300s.
We have also made a firm commitment for 11 A319LRs for inter-African flights.

I want to be a pilot for an airline to gain experience and eventually own my own major airline based out of the United States.

What? I can't have my long haul LCC? In real life there are quite a few long haul LCCs (Norwegian, Air Asia X, Scoot, JetStar, EuroWings, Level, etc). That would be my choice of airline.

Let's assume this rule does not exist. This would be my airline:

Airline name: Sheep (nickname: the sheepest airline)
Type: ULCC
Headquarters: Eindhoven
Hubs: Eindhoven, Frankfurt Hahn, London Stansted, East Midlands, Milan Bergamo, Oslo Torp
Focus cities: New York Stewart, Los Angeles Ontario, San Francisco Oakland, Chicago Rockford, Miami Fort Lauderdale, Bangkok Don Mueang
Fleet: 50x A330-300
Aircraft configs: All economy
Codeshares: We don't do codeshares
Frequent Flyer Miles: We don't have a frequent flyer program, we just offer the lowest price
Member lounges: We don't have any lounges
Subsidiaries: We don't have any
Flights: We're not part of an alliance
