What are good RC planes for beginners?
I want to start a hobby involving flying model aircraft. What are some good, cheap, RC planes for beginners?

I started off with the Night Vapor from Parkzone, it is an easy to fly 3 channel and I still use it today. Looking on Amazon its $113 for the Ready-to-Fly. If you have a spectrum radio already you could buy the bind-and-fly model.

I learnt to fly with a EasyStar Mk1 years back. Rock solid & flies superbly. Difficult to crash and even the fixes are easy. Not just a great trainer, it is also a fantastic platform for Aerial Photography.
Still have the plane years later! Battered & bruised and looks like shit - but still flies beautfully.
The Mk2 and later versions come with brushless motors and all that so you get even more flying time. Regardless of what else you buy, you MUST have the EZ* in your fleet. MUST.
If you like to build your own, you cant go wrong with the BluBaby. Very easy to build and fly. Have built dozens for my friends who wanted to start after seeing me fly! Check rcgroups for information on how to build your own.
Whatever you do: Resist the temptation to go for a UDF Jet like the Mig-15 or such. Its not easy to get the hang of RC flying regardless of what people tell you. A slow high-wing trainer is what you need. Start with a 3-channel setup and upgrade the plane later on to a 4 channel setup once you are confident enough to try basic aerobatics.
Dont even think of a UDF jet unless you have spent atleast a year on the field with you basic trainer.
