Hey Guys,

I am experienced in a wide range of certification activities. All the projects that I have dealt with are related to Bombardier DHC-8-100/200/300 and CRJ aircraft. My career is mainly focused on Electrical Systems and Equipment. I am well versed in the following STC development activities.

Electrical design for wiring, routing, installation and fabrication drawings
Autocad wiring and structural drawing
Electrical load analysis
Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) Analysis
Functional hazard assessment
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
Electromagnetic compatibility assessments/reporting
System architecture design
Concept development

I am currently employed full time. However, I am trying to broaden skill set by trying to work with experienced individuals. I was wondering if anyone know anyone knows anyone who is essentially looking for help ? Additionally, any opinions on how I could develop my knowledge base during my free time?

Thanks

What country are you in?
Is your employer an accredited/authorized design organization? In Canada, these are DAOs.
If so, are you an authorized person within it? In Canada, such people are referred to as Ministerial Delegates.
If not, are you an authorized person, period? In Canada, such people are also Ministerial Delegates, but are "free agents" so to speak. DARs.

Basically, it seems to me like a good way to broaden your horizons and fill your down time would be to pursue delegation and then do hired work for companies that aren't DAOs, making findings of compliance to airworthiness regulations for them on their projects.

Attaining delegation is neither simple nor a rapid process, but it can be lucrative.

Thank You. I am aware of DAOs and DARs. My ambition is to become a DAR, I am just trying to gain additional experience outside of office hours to make my self confident in taking such responsibilities. But I just cant figure out how I could possibly work on projects outside of my office.
