Airline Memorabilia Events in the NYC Area?

Fri Feb 03, 2017 6:01 am

Hi everyone,

I'd like to attend at least one airline memorabilia event sometime, perhaps even this year. Does anyone know if the NYC area ever plays/will play host? This site: http://www.wahsonline.com/collectible-shows/ seems to say no, though perhaps there are smaller shows airliners folks know about.

(I'd like to focus on Indonesian/Chinese airline collectibles specifically, but really, any airline memorabilia show would be a hoot.)

Regards,
BmB

See http://www.newarkairlineshow.com/

BTW, the WAHSonline site is hopelessly outdated. Last year, WAHS published their last printed "Captain's Log" and promised to have an all-digital version going forward. Since then, crickets. They have not even provided any updates to their status in over six months and I have no idea what's going on.

Appreciate your reply, psa188. Have you been to the Newark show?

(Also, if you have any contact info for someone at WAHS/another similar site, I'll send a note for us.)

Back in the day, I used to assist Bill Gawchik in putting on the EWR show. About 10-15 years ago, for various reasons, we "retired" from doing the EWR show and the present organizers, with whom we have no affiliation, took over. I moved from NYC to California in 2005 and donated most of my memorabilia collection to the SFO museum http://www.flysfo.com/museum/aviation-m ... collection.

As for WAHS, contact information is here http://www.wahsonline.com/board-of-directors/
