My thoughts, mostly off the top of my head. Some are among the largest operators, others legendary liveries, ubiquitous presences, famous airlines of yesteryear and their most iconic aircraft etc.

A320: Air Inter, Air France, US Airways, EasyJet, American

A330: Singapore Airlines, Air France, Swiss, Cathay Pacific, Hawaiian

A340: Air Tahiti Nui, Lufthansa, Air France, Iberia, South African, Cathay Pacific,

A350: Too new to judge

A380: Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Qantas

B737: Lufthansa, United, Ryanair, Southwest, British Airways

B747: British Airways, KLM, Thai Airways, Qantas, Japan Airlines, South African, Pan Am, United, TWA, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Iran Air, Air Canada, UTA

B757: British Airways, United, Icelandair, American, Delta Airlines,

B767: British Airways, TWA, United, American, Delta Airlines, LAN Airlines, Condor

B777: Air France, British Airways, United, Singapore Airlines, American, Emirates,

B787: LAN Airlines, ANA, Japan Airlines (again, very new model)

DC10: Northwest Airlines, American, Delta, British Caledonian, United, Canadian Airlines, Varig, SAS

MD11: KLM, American, Swiss/Swissair, Varig, Delta

The main types IMO

A300 - Air France, Lufthansa
A310 - Lufthansa? (comes to my mind more than anything else)
A32S - Hard to say far too common.
A330 - Again to common to say.
A340 - Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic
A350 - Too new
A380 - Emirates, Singapore Airlines

B707 - Without a doubt Pan Am. Also TWA and Qantas to a lesser extent.
B717 - None yet (Delta haven't had them long enough to be considered iconic. Other operators are too obscure. There weren't built for it to be an iconic airliner.
B727 - Too common everyone had them back in the day.
B737 - Southwest and Ryanair due to the sheer size of their all 737 fleets.
B747 - Definitely Pan Am. Also British Airways, Qantas and then maybe KLM and Lufthansa?
B757 - Hard to pic between the US3 and their predecessors.
B767 - Too common no one really stands out.
B777 - Emirates, Singapore Airlines, United
B787 - Too new

DC8 - United, Delta
DC9 - Northwest
DC10 - United, American
MD11 - Finnair, KLM
MD80 - American, SAS
MD90 - Delta but again like the 717 too few to be considered an iconic airliner.

L- Constellation - TWA, Qantas
L1011 - Delta

I would also include Braniff for the 727-200 (their domestic fleet was all 722's except for the 747 (which flew DFW-HNL-DFW). Pan Am clearly the 747 (the decision to build it was based on a handshake between Bill Allen of Boeing and Juan Trippe of Pan Am. The Constellation was built as a result of a similar agreement between TWA's Howard Hughes and Lockheed.

Here are the aircraft you asked about:
A380: Emirates by a long shot
747: Lufthansa, Pan Am, KLM
737: Southwest, Ryanair
A320: American, EasyJet
DC-3: Tons of operators, but TWA was the driving force behind the design
DC-6: Pan Am, Northwest Orient
MD-10: FedEx and Orbis are the only operators, to my knowledge
MD-11: KLM, FedEx, UPS
787: ANA, United
777: United, Emirates
727: FedEx, UPS, Delta (last US legacy operator)
707: Pan Am, TWA
757: Eastern, Delta, FedEx

...And a few others I added:
DC-9 family: Delta, Northwest
L-1011: Eastern, Delta, TWA
A300/A310 family: Lufthansa, Eastern, FedEx
767: Delta, UPS, American
CRJ family: Delta Connection, United Express, American Eagle
ERJ-135/140/145 family: American Eagle, United Express, HOP!
EMB-170/175 family: Delta Connection, United Express, American Eagle
BAe-146/Avro RJ: Swiss, Brussels Airlines, United Express
CS100/300 family: Swiss, Delta (future)

A300 - TBH only Suadi really comes to mind here, dont judge me
A310 - Aeroflot, that crash with the kids in the cockpit is really prominent when i think A310
A318 - British, the flight across the atlantic in all business class
A319 - Easyjet, numbers wise
A320 - Jetblue
A321 - American, just because its so far ahead in terms of numbers
A330 - soooo many, probably Hawaiian, just great livery and makes up most of its long haul fleet
A340 - Iberia, Lufthansa, Swiss, Virgin atlantic
A350 - Qatar atm because they are the launch customer and they operate the biggest fleet esp to ADL
A380 - Emirates, Qantas EK because so many, QF because im aussie and theres bias and because you always see them in LAX and LHR shots

B707 - Pan Am
B717 - DAL but not very iconic
B727 - DHL? Only ones ive seen so yeah
B737 - South west biggest fleet
B747 - British, Qantas, Africa because soo many african airlines (about 8) owned just 1 B747 for about 5 years then let go of them
B757 - Delta, United because they operate both types (only carriers)
B767 - Delta, United because they operate every single type
B777 - Emirates then maybe singapore because singapore sends them everywhere
B787 - ANA because launch customer and biggest fleet

When I think A310, I usually think about the previous livery Air India A310.
They were the last most common user of the type, and was the backbone for most intl ops (excluding Europe and USA) till the Dream)liners came in.

777: Cathay Pacific / BA / United
787: ANA / JAL
DC10: UPS

Can't think of any iconic Airbuses to be honest.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the dual livery of the lone British Airways Concorde that wore the BA Landor colours on one side and Singapore Airlines colours on it's port side.

Can't think of many as their are too many to choose from but I would definitely like to add the iconic B747 Braniff 'Big Orange' N601BN and any aircraft that wore the stunning British Caledonian colours :-)

Too easy. Lufthansa for the 737, Lufthansa and Air France for the A320.

For the rest I would put:

A380- Emirates, Singapore Airlines

747- Pan Am, British Airways

DC-3 - KLM
DC-6 - SAS
MD-10 - Only FedEx flew the MD-10. Unless you meant DC-10? In the case of the latter, Northwest.
MD-11 - Swissair
787 - All Nippon
777 - Emirates
727 - AA or UA
707 - Pan Am or BOAC
757 - Eastern or British Airways

A300 - Air France, Air Inter
A310 - Interflug? would be fun.
A320 - Too much to consider. Wizzair old c/s is funky. Actual "most notable" prolly Air France again or Air Inter.
A330 - everywhere...
A340 - Not as much, but noone stands out.
A380 - Emirates. Duh.

B707 - Pan Am, TWA, Qantas
B727 - There's too many, again. Pan Am was big in Europe.
B737 - Southwest, gotta be. Lufthansa for the jurassics maybe.
B747 - Pan Am for the old ones, no contest. United Battleship for 400? Kalitta for cargo.
B757 - Northwest I guess? Eastern maybe.
B767 - Delta?
B777 - All over. Emirates is a candidate.

DC-9 - Northwest.
MD-11 - LH Cargo. Or Swissair.

Tu-104 - Without going automatic Aeroflot for any Tupolev, only CSA is an option.
Tu-124 - CSA
Tu-134 - Malevs look good.
Tu-154 - Much choice. New Aeroflot is great.
Tu-204 - Air Koryo deserves a mention.
